Today I asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Chris Heaton-Harris, what unresolved issues the government will address as the Northern Ireland Troubles (Legacy and Reconciliation) Bill progresses through Parliament.
Really good to attend the Parliamentary Apprenticeships Fair yesterday. It was fantastic to meet so many apprentices including from companies with a significant presence in our area, such as GKN Aerospace, Babcock International Group and Amazon.co.uk.
Recently I spoke in a debate secured by Luke Hall MP on train services across South Gloucestershire where I raised the planned new railway station on the YTL Filton airfield site.
It was inspirational to meet apprentices from EDF Energy, Assystem UK and Vulcain Engineering this Nuclear Week in Parliament. It was great to hear of the skills they are learning and the vital contributions they are making to our energy security.
Visited GKN Global Technology Centre in Filton supporting technological innovation and sustainable development. We discussed STEM engagement with local schools and colleges and their apprenticeships program this will help inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists.
Delighted the Health Secretary joined me in thanking the South Western Ambulance Service call handlers in reducing the average call answering times by 95% to just three seconds and the public for halving the number of 999 calls to the Trust over the last month.

Today I really enjoyed visiting Bowsland Green Primary School this morning. to speak to the pupils about my role as an MP, why I do what I do and how they can get involved in politics followed by a Q&A.
Today I had an excellent meeting in Westminster with Laura Holloway from Enterprise car rental to discuss the forthcoming opportunities to employ and train veterans and apprentices. We also discussed the ongoing expansion of electric vehicles within their rental fleet.
