Over the next month, Jack will be fundraising for the teenage cancer charity CLIC Sargent, as he sets out to run the Severn Bridge Half Marathon on the August bank holiday weekend and the Great Bristol Half Marathon in September.
Earlier this week I sent a letter to Councillor Colin Hunt, Executive Member for Planning Transport and Strategic Environment at South Gloucestershire Council, asking him to start an application for central government funding to build a Winterbourne bypass.
Last week Jack visited the Compass Project in Staple Hill to get some furniture for his office and to catch up on the work that this amazing social action programme has been doing in our community.
Jack always enjoys welcoming constituents to Westminster and being able to show them a bit more about the work he does in Parliament, so he was pleased to hear that the Parliament Education Service was hosting three schools from Filton and Bradley Stoke last Tuesday.
On Monday, Jack Lopresti had the pleasure to host the Kurdistan's High Representative to the UK, Karwan Jamal Tahir, at an event for the John Adams Society.
Over the weekend Jack was at the Frenchay Flower Show helping to give out prizes along with West of England Mayor Tim Bowles. This year was the 74th show and the event is now a firm tradition amongst the local community.
Jack’s Saturday ended in Patchway at the Patchway Community Fair. There was a great buzz of activity as children enjoyed the fairground rides and families enjoyed music from bands on stage.
