Held a conference call earlier today with West of England Mayor, Tim Bowles, to discuss local public transport provision in our area, and to support ongoing funding for adult education and skills.

Opening church doors on Easter Sunday

Today I wrote to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, and also sent a version of this letter to Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, to ask the Government to consider opening church doors on Easter Sunday for private prayer.

Social Mobility in the British Army

Today I raised social mobility in the British Army. I asked about number of serving officers that attended a state school and plans to increase the proportion. The Minister acknowledged the role of our armed forces in social mobility. I'll write to him and get an answer on numbers.

Priority for Northern Ireland Veterans

During Defence questions, I asked the Minister for Veterans to assure the House that Northern Ireland Veterans would take priority in upcoming legislation due to their age and impending legal action. Disappointed with response from Minister, will continue to press.

Citizens Advice Reception - helping to turn around lives

It was a pleasure to attend the Citizens Advice reception today. Their dedication helps turn around lives in our area and across the UK. Often when the future looks bleak, this service supports vulnerable people through difficult times. Thank you for all the work you do.
