Airbus is an important and valued part of our aerospace industry, especially in my constituency. I am surprised to see this statement because Sky News reported similar last week and Airbus subsequently denied it.

PMQs - Tribute to Bob Woodward

During PMQs  I asked the Prime Minister if she would join me in a tribute to Bob Woodward, who died on Sunday. He was an inspirational figure; a great and compassionate man.  The Prime Minister responded by highlighting the range and depth of Mr Woodward's work which now has global reach

January Update

It has been an incredibly busy time here in Filton and Bradley Stoke, as well as in parliament. The last month has seen various Christmas markets take place right across the constituency.

Jack visits Royal Mail Sorting Office

Jack visited Royal Mail Sorting Office in Bristol on Thursday, where they are handling the Christmas peak of 6 million cards, letters and parcels a day, Rob Patterson, Site Manager, also updated Jack on the multi million pound investment in the facility coming over the next year.

Jack meets with Sajid Javid MP to discuss Police Funding

This week, Jack met with Sajid Javid MP, the Home Secretary, to discuss the 7.5% increase to Police funding in the local area. The government has announced that funding for the police system will increase by up to £970m million next year, the biggest increase since 2010.

  Jack attended the Christmas on the Hill event in Staple Hill, which was a great success. It was especially boosted by independent retailers on Small Business Saturday.

Jack appointed PPS to Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union

This week, Jack was appointed as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the new Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, Stephen Barclay MP. Following the appointment, Jack said: "I am honoured to have been promoted to the role of PPS to the Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union.
