Today I was at the SGS College Employer Conference organised with Business West, it was good to see so many local employers there. Very interesting to hear presentations from Principal Sara-Jane and Matt and Chloe from Business West discussing business engagement, and skills development in our area.
The event helped to promote a symbiotic relationship between business and the college so that SGS can further develop their ability to provide the skills required by employers in our area.
The presentation by Business West, the largest chamber of commerce in the country, primarily focused on the work they are doing to support Local Skills Improvement Plans for our area, and the research they are doing to help inform these plans.
