Local MP Jack Lopresti today visited the Perry Almshouses in Winterbourne to celebrate their 170th Anniversary, and the 75th Anniversary of the Almshouse Association.
The Perry Almshouses are a Grade II listed building in Winterbourne. Held in Trust since 1851, the Almshouses provide accommodation for those within the Parish who are in need. They are managed by a Board of six volunteer Trustees (including one ex-offcio Trustee who is the incumbent of the Fromeside Benefice) and a contracted part-time Administrator.
Blessed with excellent weather, Jack was honoured to install a plaque to mark the occasion and celebrate the fantastic work that the Almshouses do. He was joined by the Chief Executive of the Almshouse Association, Nick Phillips, as well as Metro Mayor Dan Norris.

I loved my visit to The Perry Almshouses on Monday, to celebrate their 170th Anniversary and the 75th Anniversary of The Almshouse Association. The glorious weather was very fitting for a magnificent garden party, with delicious food and cake.
It was great to talk to the residents about their experiences living in the Almshouses, and to hear about the brilliant and supportive community that they have there. I was also honoured to be asked to install a plaque to mark the occasion.
