Filton and Bradley Stoke MP Jack Lopresti today visited the newly refurbished Library at Patchway Community School, and met some of the brilliant Year 7 reading ambassadors.
The facility has been upgraded, with new books, more and better computers and a built-in classroom space, allowing classes to take place within the Library itself. There's a fantastic selection of reading for pupils, and those Jack met were incredibly enthusiastic about their books and their Library.
After a short tour with Headteacher Ms Cornick and Chief Executive of Olympus Academy Trust, Dave Baker, Jack met Mrs Evans and Mrs Roberts and the reading ambassadors. He spoke about his role as a Member of Parliament, his favourite books and the things he enjoys in their spare time.
Commenting after the visit, Jack said:
I was delighted to visit the new Library at Patchway Community School. The facility looks fantastic and the children were so enthusiastic about reading and their favourite books.
As we recover from the pandemic, reading is a great way for children to engage with learning and expand their own horizons, whether at home or at school.
