Filton and Bradley Stoke MP Jack Lopresti welcomed the opening of the new vaccination centre at Ashton Gate stadium, which was visited by Prime Minister Boris Johnson and will contribute towards the Government’s goal of delivering 2 million COVID-19 vaccinations per week by the end of January across the UK.
It will allow mass vaccination of the people of Bristol and the surrounding area. Those who come to be vaccinated will follow a short route through the process, including a brief wait after the jab has been administered to ensure there are no complications. With the opening of the Ashton Gate facility and other sites around the area, everyone in the West of England is now within 10 miles of a vaccination hub.

Not only is it brilliant to see the vaccination site open in Bristol, but to have the Prime Minister visit is a great tribute to the hard work done by everyone involved in setting it up.
Vaccines offer a shining beacon of hope to help end the coronavirus pandemic. It’s vitally important that as many people as possible are vaccinated as quickly as possible. As soon as it’s your turn, the NHS will contact you and you can head to your local vaccination centre.
As with the NHS Nightingale hospital on the UWE campus, this is a great example of civilian and military services coming together to take on the pandemic.
Vaccines are being distributed in accordance with the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation prioritisation guidance. Everyone who is vaccinated at Ashton Gate or anywhere else in the constituency will be invited by the NHS, so please don’t go to the site or your GP to be vaccinated if you do not have an appointment.
